These New Year’s Countdown Clocks are incredibly simple to assemble and lots of fun. We designed two versions – one that counts down from midday – featuring hourly New Year’s Eve activities and suggestions.. and another “blank” option – allowing you to add your own 12-part countdown – begin at, for example, 6pm and move forward in half-hour intervals – 6:30pm, 7pm, 7:30pm etc….

How to create your 2026 Countdown Clock
Watch our useful countdown clock video to see how fast and simple this clock is to assemble!! Alternatively, follow the detailed instructions below!
Keep in mind that you have two options – create a “round clock” or keep the main clock on your A4 sheet of paper and decorate the surrounding area. In my opinion, both versions are beautiful in their own way.
- Start by colouring the various clock pieces – the small rectangle may remain uncoloured because it becomes part of the mechanism that holds the clock securely at the back. Remember, you may decorate the entire cover sheet or only the clock. It is up to you.
OPTIONS: use the Countdown Clock Face to include activity suggestions, then move to the next activity as you reach a new hour or section – for example, create a family time capsule or enjoy a DIY New Year’s Eve Photo Booth (more details coming soon!!)
- Cut out your second sheet – the “Happy New Year” dial and the rectangle. You can also cut out the main face if you want (although this is optional).
- Cut along the red guideline on both the Countdown Clock Face and the New Year’s dial.
- Slide the New Year’s Dial INTO the Countdown Clock Face.
- Next, line up the rectangle with the “end of your dial” and secure it with tape. This keeps the dial from sliding out.
That’s it. Yep.. it truly is that simple. Your 2026 Countdown Clock is ready to use!
