This part of the year tends to move at a sluggish pace. The days feel lengthy, somewhat dull, and finding the inspiration to craft can be difficult. Still, we put together a few quick and easy Valentine’s Day projects. As a matter of fact, I’m sure this Heart People Craft is bound to cheer anyone up.

Only a handful of materials are required for this simple Valentine’s Day project. You won’t even need a pattern to print. Better yet, it’s an excellent activity for practicing how to cut out hearts in whatever sizes you prefer.

Toddlers will have a wonderful time with this Valentine’s Day project, which is also ideal for any last-minute heart-inspired crafting session!

Valentine’s Day Heart People Craft

To create our easy heart people, gather cardstock in red, pink, purple, or any shade you want to use for your Valentine hearts.

You will additionally need pipe cleaners, a black pen or sharpie, tape, large googly eyes, and scissors.

Heart People Craft Step by Step Directions

Start by trimming a heart from the color of cardstock you have selected.

With younger children, you might want to sketch a heart for them to cut out. Choose any heart size you like.

Next, select two pipe cleaners in colors of your choosing. Fold one pipe cleaner in half.

After that, tape the folded end of the pipe cleaner near the lower part of the heart to create the legs.

Secure the second pipe cleaner horizontally across the center of the heart with tape.

Turn the heart over again, then curl the ends of the pipe cleaners.

Add the googly eyes next.

To finish these adorable, wonderfully simple Valentine’s Day crafts for children, use a black marker or sharpie to draw a little mouth!

Instructions

  1. First, cut a heart from the color of cardstock you selected. Create it in any size you prefer.
  2. Choose two pipe cleaners in colors you like, then fold one of them in half.
  3. Use tape to attach the folded end of the pipe cleaner near the bottom of the heart to form the legs.
  4. Across the center of the heart, fasten the remaining pipe cleaner with tape.
  5. Turn the heart over and curl the pipe cleaner ends.
  6. Place on the googly eyes.
  7. Finish by drawing a small mouth with a black marker or sharpie to complete these charming and very easy Valentine’s Day crafts for kids

Notes

For younger children, an adult might need to sketch a heart for them to cut out, making the activity simpler.
