How to Create a DIY Grinch Card
1. Print the template onto white cardstock.
Use the thickest paper possible; we prefer stock over 100lb, then cut out the ornament section.
The free printable template is available at the bottom of this post (remember to register through the form displaying the Grinch card template preview).
Printing tips: Before printing, confirm that the sizing matches your printer settings and that the template is positioned in the center of the paper’s right side when held upright. Since printers and their settings vary, you might have to modify the template dimensions before printing. Look for a setting labeled “scale,” which allows you to reduce it to 80% or 90%, or select the “fit to page” option.
Fold the paper slightly to create a cutting guide, then trim along the template’s inner edge. Keep the black border intact so the bulb’s outline remains visible.

2. Decorate or paint the card’s front. Use green for the Grinch hand and red for the arm.

3. Attach the transparent plastic sheet to the card’s interior with glue or tape.
Double-sided tape works well to secure it smoothly against the cardstock.

4. Place double-sided adhesive foam mounts around the bulb’s inner edge.
Position them slightly behind the bulb opening so they remain hidden from the front of the card.
Next, place small silver sequins inside the bulb section.

5. Attach the picture to the back so the sequins stay secure.
The photo should adhere to the foam mounts.

7. Add a heartfelt Christmas greeting inside.
You could even write “Merry Grinchmas” on the inside.

8. Fasten a ribbon onto the front.

9. Give the front a shake and watch the silver sequins swirl.
Aren’t these Grinch cards absolutely adorable? You can even write “Merry Grinchmas” inside! Place your favorite little Who inside this charming Grinch card for Christmas!
