With temperatures reaching 100 degrees outdoors, we figured it was time for a few additional summer projects. To celebrate the bright summer sunshine, we created this simple, colorful, and lovely Cupcake Liner Sunflower Craft. It also includes an enjoyable q-tip painting technique for decorating the flower’s center.
Sunflowers are my favorite flowers by far. Naturally, they look stunning throughout the summer. They can also feel like an autumn flower. Still, I adore sunflowers at any time. This sunflower project can be made during any season, although it may be especially enjoyable on an extremely warm afternoon.
Q-Tip Painted Cupcake Liner Sunflower Craft
For these simple and attractive cupcake liner sunflowers, gather yellow cupcake liners, cardstock in green and blue, black acrylic paint, qtips, scissors, and a glue stick.
Sunflower Cupcake Liner Craft Supplies Needed
- Yellow cupcake liners
- Cardstock – green, blue
- Black acrylic paint
- Q-tips
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Easy Sunflower Craft Step by Step Directions
First, collect the yellow cupcake liners along with the blue cardstock you selected for the background.
Press the cupcake liners flat, then cut small slits around each liner’s outer edge.
Afterward, apply glue only to the middle of each liner and position them near the top of the blue cardstock. Two sunflowers fit on one sheet for us.
Now, use the green cardstock to cut two lengthy pieces for the flower stems.
Attach the stems with glue, placing their tops beneath the sunflower edges.
Cut off whatever extra cardstock extends past the bottom.
To finish, take four q-tips and some black acrylic paint. Coat the ends of all four q-tips with the black paint.
Next, press the painted q-tips onto the middle of the sunflower to create dots.
Keep adding stamped dots until the center is covered and your gorgeous sunflower page is complete.
