We’ve officially conquered the internet with this one! Seriously, this Fork Painted Abominable Snowman Craft is the ultimate winter project in every possible way. Besides being adorable, it’s incredibly simple, making it perfect for children and adults alike.
I have to say, this abominable snowman project makes me laugh every time. While photographing it to share, I set the fork inside the frame. It wasn’t intentional, but the snowman’s eyes appeared to be staring directly at the fork and its toothy open mouth. It seemed like the yeti was genuinely shocked or terrified by the utensil. I couldn’t contain my laughter.
Honestly, this yeti project is an internet winner—or at least it is in my opinion. It certainly captured my heart. The children enjoyed making it so much that it was a huge success for the day, too. Fork painting is a wonderful way for even very young children to create art since there’s no incorrect method. For all those reasons, this craft may just be the highlight of winter.
Abominable Snowman Winter Fork Painting Craft
For this wonderfully entertaining abominable snowman project, gather white and blue acrylic paint, a fork, cardstock in black and white, a ⅝” circle paper punch, white paint pen, scissors, and a glue stick.

Fork Painted Yeti Craft Step by Step Directions
Start by placing white and blue acrylic paint onto a smooth surface.
Paper plates work well for this. You’ll also need a kitchen fork.
Press the fork’s tines into the white paint.
Using the fork tines as your brush, begin creating the abominable snowman’s overall form. You can decide exactly how large or shaped your snowman will be.
The fork tines will give the yeti a wonderfully shaggy, textured appearance.
After finishing the yeti’s white base, remove any extra paint from the fork, then dip its tines into the blue paint.
With the fork, add blue paint around the yeti’s face.
Continue using the fork to apply blue paint to the body, then allow everything to dry thoroughly.
As the paint dries, prepare the yeti’s facial pieces. Cut two white paper or cardstock ovals. Next, use the ⅝” circle paper punch to create 3 circles from black cardstock. You’ll also need a rounded, rectangle-like piece for the open mouth.
With the white paint pen, draw triangular teeth and fill them in inside the mouth piece.
Once the paint has dried completely, attach the two ovals as the eyes. Make sure all the facial pieces remain inside the blue painted area.
Place two black circles inside the ovals to complete the eyes. Use the remaining circle as the nose.
To finish this wonderfully silly, charming, and entertaining winter art project, glue the mouth piece above the nose.

Instructions
- Pour white and blue acrylic paint onto a level surface to get started.
- Paper plates are a good choice. You’ll also need a kitchen fork.
- Dip the fork’s tines into the white paint.
- Begin painting the abominable snowman’s general outline with the fork tines.
- Create a fuzzy, textured appearance by using the fork tines.
- When the white yeti base is finished, clean away extra paint from the fork before placing the tines into the blue paint.
- Apply blue paint with the fork around the yeti’s face.
- Use the fork to cover the body with blue paint as well. Let it dry fully.
- While waiting for the paint to dry, prepare the yeti’s facial parts. Cut two ovals from white paper or cardstock.
- Punch 3 circles from black cardstock with a ⅝” circle paper punch.
- Cut one rounded, rectangle-shaped piece for the mouth.
- Draw triangular teeth inside the mouth piece using a white paint pen, then fill them in.
- After the paint has dried entirely, glue the two ovals on as the eyes. Keep every facial piece within the blue painted portion.
- Insert two circles inside the ovals to complete the eyes.
- Attach the remaining circle as the nose.
- Finish the project by gluing the mouth piece above the nose, creating a hilarious, cute, and delightfully entertaining winter art craft.
