Materials Required
- Glue – we suggest choosing an extra strong adhesive (such as tacky glue) or hot glue (with adult supervision) so the houses stay securely assembled. Tape is another option, or you can use glue dots.
How to Create a Paper Gingerbread House
1. Print the complimentary patterns.
The patterns are available at the end of the post (inside the form displaying the template preview).
2. Decorate the patterns with color.
Children can color the patterns in any way they choose!
We selected a soft brown shade for the gingerbread color (similar to a handmade gingerbread house), though you can use any colors to turn them into festive Christmas homes.
3. Trim out the pattern.
You’ll also need to make a small additional cut along the roof sides so that this section can fold all the way down.
4. Crease along the dotted lines.
Apply the glue along the outer dotted lines.
5. Assemble the house with glue.
Begin with the house walls and finish with the roof. Choose a durable glue and allow each part to dry fully before moving on to the next section.
You may also choose glue dots or hot glue (with adult supervision)
