Horton Hears A Who DIY Elephant Craft
For our Paper Plate Horton Hears a Who Craft, gather a paper plate, acrylic paint, black and white construction paper, glue stick, and scissors. To create the clovers, you’ll also need paper straws and poms.
Horton Hears a Who Craft Supplies Needed
- Paper plate
- Acrylic paint – blue or grey
- Construction paper – white, black
- Paper straw
- Poms
- Glue
- Scissors
Paper Plate Elephant Craft Step by Step Instructions
Start by painting the paper plate.
We chose blue for ours, though grey would work just as well. Allow it to dry fully.
Afterward, remove the middle sections from the top and bottom of the painted plate.
Join the ends of the cut sections with glue to form the trunk.
Make a tiny slit at the trunk’s tip.
Next, cut two small oval shapes from the white paper, followed by two slightly smaller black ovals.
Place the black ovals in the centers of the white ones and glue them in place to create Horton’s eyes.
Attach the eyes to the center of the plate, then glue the trunk to the bottom middle.
Now, divide a paper straw into two pieces and attach a pom pom to the top of one piece.
Insert the clover into the trunk’s opening. Horton is ready to go!
