Searching for a whimsical way to conceal a turkey this Thanksgiving? This Unicorn Turkey Disguise craft offers a simple method for transforming a turkey into a unicorn. A complimentary printable template is included so you can trace and cut out all the required pieces.

Children can have lots of fun designing their unicorn! Let them select any color for the unicorn and combine ordinary paper with glitter paper for extra sparkle.
To conceal the turkey feathers, paint or cover the tail feathers. Adding a little more glitter to them is another fun option.
Supplies You’ll Need
- Printable turkey in disguise unicorn template – available at the end of this post
- Markers – (or crayons, paint, colored pencils, etc) for decorating the turkey
- Scissors
- Glue stick – for securing the paper pieces to the turkey
- Tacky glue – for fastening the pom poms
- Mini pom poms – 3 for each turkey
- Colored paper – glitter paper and cardstock for the mouth
- Black marker – for drawing the nostrils and mouth

How to Create a Turkey in Disguise Unicorn
1. Decorate the turkey.
Start by getting the turkey disguise template.
Color the turkey’s tail feathers with markers, crayons, colored pencils, or paint. We selected pink, turquoise, pink, and purple shades to give it an enchanting unicorn appearance.
If you’d like the turkey to have a particular color, decorate the top of its head as well. Otherwise, leave it white to create a white unicorn.
2. Trim out the pieces.
Print the unicorn turkey template, which is located at the bottom of the post.
Transfer the shapes onto colored paper, then cut them out. Glitter paper was used for the body, hooves, and horn.
3. Attach the unicorn body.
Secure the unicorn body to the turkey with a glue stick.
You may cover the face and create your own, or trim the template so the turkey’s face remains visible, as shown below. When the entire body covers the turkey’s face, draw on eyes or attach googly eyes.
4. Attach the unicorn mouth.
Cut out the mouth, or color the one on the template, and glue it over the turkey’s beak.
Use a black marker to add the unicorn’s nostrils and mouth.
5. Add the hooves.
Glue the hooves to the lower ends of the unicorn’s legs.
6. Add the horn and flowers.
Begin by attaching the horn. Next, cut out and add 3 paper flowers from the template. Children may also decorate the flowers from the template before gluing them on.
Finish by using glue to place 3 mini pom poms on the flowers.
Once finished, they look wonderfully magical and glittery, so nobody will guess that a turkey is hiding underneath!
