Simply collect a few cardboard rolls, blue cardstock, and shark-inspired acrylic paint. Stamp plenty of circles over the paper! Add a handful of triangles, and you’ll create the sweetest sharks swimming through the sea.
Simple Stamped Shark Activity
For this charming shark art project, gather clean toilet paper-sized cardboard rolls, blue cardstock, acrylic paint in blue or gray, along with blue, gray, and black markers.
Supplies for the Cardboard Roll Shark Craft
- Cardboard tubes
- Blue cardstock paper
- Acrylic paint – blue, gray
- Markers – blue, gray, black
Step-by-Step Instructions for the Circle Stamp Shark Craft
Start by preparing clean, toilet paper-sized cardboard rolls. Use one roll for each shade of paint.
Place a plentiful portion of each paint color onto a smooth surface. A paper plate is a great option, though a regular sheet of paper worked perfectly for us. We chose silver, gray, and blue paint for our sharks.
Next, dip one side of each cardboard roll into a paint color. Be certain that the entire end is coated thoroughly.
Press the painted cardboard roll onto a piece of blue cardstock.
Continue stamping until you have created as many sharks as you like. Remember to leave space between the circles so you can add the sharks’ fins. Allow the paint to dry fully.
After the paint has dried, take a marker that matches each shark’s color and draw a ^ symbol above the circles.Then, place two < > shapes on the sides of the circles to create fins. Add a few lines to the side fins for extra detail.
To complete the sharks, use a black marker to add two small eyes and a mouth.
You can easily continue creating more sharks by experimenting with other paint shades and cardstock background colors!
